**If you communicate with your loved one independently, please continue to do so, and if you have already set up reoccurring video call appointments with your facility contact, please know that those appointments will continue as scheduled.
What video call platforms are available?
Skype accounts can be created with an email address or a cellphone number by visiting https://web.skype.com/ or downloading the Skype app from the iTunes or Google play store. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one by following their instructions. Skype can be downloaded on any smart phone or computer.
FaceTime can be used with any Apple iPhone or iPad. Visit this website for FaceTime support https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204380.
Both platforms have the ability to do group video calls. Please let us know if you are interested in connecting more than one family member at a time.
When would I be able to video call with my loved one?
We are available to conduct video calls Monday-Friday between 9 am-7:30 pm (some facilities have slightly different hours, please inquire with your contact noted above).
Please schedule these calls at least 24 hours in advance by contacting the staff person assigned for your facility (see above). This is to ensure that the staff on each unit are able to provide daily care to your loved one in accordance with their appointment. This also allows your loved one to prepare for their virtual visit.
Sessions will be limited to approximately fifteen minutes each.
You can schedule up to three times per week, per family member. This is to ensure that our staff are able to accommodate all families.
Please have the following information ready when you contact us to schedule a call:
Resident name, your preference for Skype or FaceTime, your contact information for that platform (ie. telephone number, email address, or Skype username). For a group call please be prepared with the names and contact information for each party who wants to join the call.
Please also include preferred days/times and we will do our best to accommodate your first choice.
