Rivers Casino & Resort Gearing Up for an Exciting Fall Season

Hailed as the immediate capital district's only place to play table games, Rivers first opened in February 2017 after New York State passed legislation authorizing seven non-Indian casinos in the state.  In addition to nearly 70 table games including Blackjack, Craps, Roulette and Let It Ride, the casino also features 1,100 slot machines and a 15-table poker room, which recently reopened after having been closed because of the pandemic.  Yet, take a quick look below and you’ll see that River’s Casino & Resort has much to offer beyond gaming.

If live music is what stirs your soul, you’re in luck: This October and November there’s a whole slew of acts coming to Rivers’ event center stage.  On Saturday, October 30, it’s a hard-rock triple bill featuring Great White, Slaughter and Kip Winger.  The next weekend, The Family Stone, fronted by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and original founding member of Sly & The Family Stone Jerry Martini on sax, takes the stage on Friday, and The Orchestra, starring former members of The Electric Light Orchestra, follows it up with a performance on Saturday.  A few weeks later, on Thanksgiving Eve, Kickin’ it Country Night will feature performances by David J and the Vinny Michaels Band.

Also coming to Rivers this season is the October 7 Dukes Chophouse Sip & Savor Wine Pairing Event, at which attendees will enjoy a specially curated five-course dinner and pairing menu.  For more choices, both in River’s Resort and Schenectady’s Mohawk Harbor area including Flipt, Mian, Druthers Brewing Company, The Shaker & Vine and more.

Of course, you don’t need to wait to enjoy a night out at the casino.  It’s only a 10 minutes’ drive from Kingsway Community, after all.  And who knows—Paul Harter, Jr. of East Greenbush won $295,000 on a $5 bet earlier this summer—maybe you’ll win big, too.
