Michael McPartlon

President/CEO

Michael has worked at Kingsway Community for over three decades and is a second generation owner/operator, having taken over the leadership of the organization from his father, Dr. J. Peter McPartlon, the company’s founder. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hobart College, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Union College, and is a New York State Licensed Administrator.

A lifelong Niskayuna resident, Michael is on the Board of Directors of the Heritage Home for Women, Parkview Cemetery, and as a past Chair of the Board of the New York State Health Facilities Association.

When Michael is not at work he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, golfing, and relaxing with his family in the Adirondacks.

Vicki Avery

Resident Services Manager - Parkland Garden Apartments/Court Apartments

Vicki has devoted more than three decades of her professional career working directly with older adults in residential services and management for Kingsway Community, and she is proud to share the family-oriented values and mission for which Kingsway is known. 

Vicki’s extensive experience has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the unique needs, preferences and challenges faced by seniors, and she enjoys providing each resident with personalized service which both ensures their comfort and supports an independent, active lifestyle.  Vicki grew up in nearby Guilderland and cherishes spending time with her grandchildren, especially on trips to the Adirondacks for camping, fishing and enjoying the outdoors.

Donna Brake

Director of Sales & Marketing

Donna has 30 years of experience in creating, implementing and improving sales, marketing and operational processes throughout the health care industry.  She feels fortunate to have a career focused on maintaining the integrity and respect for aging seniors. She is proud to bring her experience and passion to Kingsway Community and to work with a team dedicated to providing the finest continuum of care for seniors in the Capital Region.

A Schenectady Kiwanis Board member, Donna holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Paul Canale

Director of Dining Services & Corporate Executive Chef

Cooking and creativity is in Chef Paul Canale's blood. From a very early age when he helped his parents in their culinary businesses, Chef Paul knew that this was the career path for him. He holds Associate Degrees in both Computer Programming and Hotel Management, but cooking has always been his passion. An Executive Chef at Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia for six years and at the Stockade Inn for three before that, Chef Paul has been a member of the Kingsway family since 2006.

Throughout his culinary career, he has cooked for Fortune 500 CEOs, Wall Street investors and numerous celebrities such as Governor Pataki, former New York City Mayor Rudy Guliani, Robert Redford, Sting, KISS and former First Lady and New York State Senator Hillary Clinton.

Adrienne Caruso

Resident Services Manager - Kingsway Village Apartments

Adrienne Caruso, Resident Services Manager at Kingsway Village Apartments, brings 25 plus years of customer service and administration expertise. Since 2013, she's been an integral part of Kingsway, drawn by her Schenectady roots and passion for enhancing seniors' quality of life. Adrienne's welcoming demeanor, positive energy, and dedication foster mutual respect among residents and staff, embodying Kingsway's core values of quality and accountability.

James Farnan, LNHA

Administrator, Kingsway Arms Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

James Farnan has over 25 years of experience in long term care and senior living leadership in the capital region.  With a keen focus on operational excellence, collaborative management and resident and family satisfaction, James is dedicated to ensuring each resident achieves their highest quality outcome. James received his Nursing Home Administrator license in 2000 and earned an MBA in Health Systems Administration from Union College. Additionally, James has a master’s in healthcare data analytics from Clarkson University and he’s a proud member of the American College of Health Care Administrators. 

Farra Foster

Administrator, Kingsway Home Care Service

In addition to serving as Administrator of our home care agency, Farra is a licensed nurse and a graduate of Maria College in Albany. With over 20 years of nursing experience, with the majority of her career has focused on elder care. Farra is passionate about working with seniors and is proud to continue her commitment to compassionate, quality care at Kingsway Home Care.

Lorraine Hobart

Director of Human Resources

A proud resident of the Capital District, Lorraine is an active member of SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management), NENYHCR (Northeastern New York Association of Healthcare Recruiters), and CRHRA (Capital Region Human Resource Association). She holds a B.A. in Human Resources Management and Business Economics from SUNY Potsdam and has spent nearly 30 years building a successful career in the human resources field.

Since joining the Kingsway family in April 2011, Lorraine has valued the commitment and teamwork of the staff, recognizing their vital role in ensuring residents receive the highest quality of care.

Mark Licata

Director of Information Technology

As Information Technologies Director for Kingsway Community, Mark is responsible for managing computers, telecommunications and other areas of technology for the campus. During his 30 years as part of the Kingsway family, Mark has played a vital role in designing, installing and running the extensive technology infrastructure.

A graduate of SUNY Potsdam and Siena College, technology has been a lifelong passion for Mark, having worked in the field since high school.

Renee Markle

Director of Resident Engagement

Renee “RJ” Markle has over 20 years of experience working with older adults and she appreciates that every Kingsway Community resident has something to contribute – whether it’s a musical ability, a passion for art, a penchant for puzzles or good conversation. Renee is an Activity Consultant Certified (ACC) from the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Arts Therapies and a Master's in Health Care Administration, with a concentration in Gerontology, and is also a certified Tai Chi Fitness Instructor. Her focus is developing rich and diverse engagement programming so each resident is provided with ways to preserve wellness, strengthen the body, reduce stress, stimulate the mind and enjoy life. “I started working with seniors because I loved spending time with my grandparents when I was younger and thought it would be wonderful to spend time with grandparents all the time, even if they weren’t my own.”

Todd Markle

Facilities Director

As Facilities Director, Todd oversees the operations and upkeep of our five campus residences along with managing our maintenance, laundry and housekeeping teams. With over two decades of managing physical plant operations as well as holding a degree in business management, Todd has developed a keen awareness of how to keep our residents safe, comfortable and happy. In addition to overseeing campus construction and renovation projects, Todd heads up our Kingsway Safety Committee, working closely with the Kingsway leadership team, as well as state and local authorities, to ensure our emergency preparedness plan is up to date and ready to deploy when needed.

Patrick McPartlon

Director of Finance

Since joining Kingsway Community in 2011, Patrick has found continued fulfillment in managing and reporting on its systems of accounting and finance. As the head of the Finance Department, he is proud to oversee a team of professionals dedicated to providing excellent customer service to the residents and staff of Kingsway. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Babson College and enjoys volunteering his time as a Board Member for the Joan Nicole Prince Home as well as the Town of Niskayuna ZBA.

Sharon Sleicher

Marketing and Public Relations Specialist

With over 30 years of engagement marketing experience in public radio and television, Sharon has a genuine respect for the perspective, wisdom and understanding that older adults have to share.  Sharon earned a bachelor's degree from Middlebury College, has extensive experience in customer service and systems development and serves as a parent volunteer at area schools.

Azra Stracuzzi

RN, Administrator, Kingsway Manor Assisted Living and Memory Care Center

As Administrator of Kingsway Manor Assisted Living, Azra has 20 years of experience in health care including acute care, long term and assisted living. She began her career in the health care field as a Certified Nurse Assistant, worked to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and eventually a Registered Nurse. She is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during Operation Enduring Freedom and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. Azra is pleased to work at Kingsway. "I appreciate the family atmosphere and feel privileged to work with older adults in such a gracious environment".
